CORTESA was founded in October 1969 by LEON RAUSCHER, who, as a commercial representative and distributor of foreign cutting machines, decided to start a domestic production. Modestly, Cortesa's activities began in a property in the neighborhood BOM RETIRO, near the center of Curitiba. Soon, the space became small and the construction of a new headquarters begun in the city of PINHAIS, metropolitan region of Curitiba, moving there in 1983.

In 2002, a partnership was formed with the German company URBAN, a world leader in the manufacturing of PVC window machines. This partnership has brought CORTESA the leadership in Brazil as a supplier of PVC window frames. In 2012, through this partnership, CORTESA installed the first two fully automated factories to produce PVC frames. In these industries, once you design the miter in the management software, all the machine adjustments are transmitted online, dispensing manual scheduling of the operators.

Certified with the ISO-9001-2015 quality management system, the equipment produced or marketed by CORTESA also applies to other sectors, such as metal furniture and the mechanical industry in general.

In recent years, CORTESA has received several "BRAZIL BRANDS AWARDS" as the favorite brand of the magazine CONTRAMARCO in the categories "locksmith machines", "moulder machines" and "moulder tools".
