Established in 1970, the lift and escalator division was Chevalier’s first business division and today it remains one of the core businesses of the Group. Since the establishment of Chevalier (HK) Limited, the division has developed a long­-term partnership with Toshiba Elevator and Building Systems Corporation. In March 2009, we further expanded our partnership and engaged in a joint venture for the installation, testing, repair, maintenance, and modernization of lifts and escalators.

In 1972, Chevalier (HK) Limited started to develop the overseas lifts and escalators business in Singapore. Over the years, it participated in different kinds of development projects consisting of commercial buildings, hotels, private residential estates and public housing projects, and provided lift and escalator facilities. In 1981, Chevalier (HK) put forward a milestone step to China. In alignment with the business objectives of Toshiba Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. and Toshiba Elevator (Shenyang) Co., Ltd, Chevalier (HK) actively expanded its lifts and escalators business in order to facilitate the tremendous growth of construction projects in Mainland China over the years. With the transformation of Macau into an international entertainment and resort centre in Asia, Chevalier (HK) seized the opportunity to provide lifts and escalators in large scale hotel development projects in Macau in recent years.
